About

We are the Junior League of York

Above all else, our goal is to promote and perpetuate social change in the York County, Pennsylvania communities that will benefit most from it. By empowering women and providing valuable leadership training, we are giving local women the tools to get involved, put their talents to work, and positively impact the communities of south-central Pennsylvania.

Strength in Numbers

As one of hundreds of Junior League chapters across the world, we are a member of the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. (AJLI). Established in 1930, the Junior League of York plays an integral part in the development, improvement, and support of the communities of York County, Pennsylvania.

Our Local Impact

During the past three years, our focus on women and children affected by substance use drove our League’s mission and voluntarism efforts. This focus area required immediate action, and our multi-faceted approach to make an impact. This included volunteering with community organizations, fundraising, and organizing drives. Our League is currently exploring four community issue areas:

  • Homelessness and Poverty
  • Food Security
  • Literacy/Education
  • Women’s Issues

After exploring these issues, we will determine our next Focus Area to drive our League’s efforts for the next three years. If you’re interested in learning more about our current focus or developing your own civic leadership skills, we welcome you to learn more or connect with us.

Help Us Lead Change

There is always more work to be done, more help needed, and more opportunities to make an impact in York County, Pennsylvania. The empowered women of Junior League of York are working to improve our local communities through leadership and effective action. Will you join them?
