Scholarship Opportunities
The Junior League of York is pleased to announce its academic scholarship program for the 2025-2026 year. This year, the Junior League of York will award two $750 scholarships to students who are pursuing a post-secondary education. The scholarships will be awarded to a current high school senior and/or a current student at an accredited college or university, or post-secondary vocational-technical institution.
Eligibility
The scholarship recipient must
- Be a current female high school senior or undergraduate student who has been accepted and will be enrolled at an accredited post-secondary educational institution for the 2026-2027 academic year.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 if a current high school senior or a 3.0 if a current post-secondary student.
- Reside in York City or York County.
- Have a history of active community volunteer service beyond current school requirements.
- Demonstrate leadership capabilities.
- Attend the Junior League of York Membership Meeting on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 6:00 pm to accept the scholarship award.
Please note that an immediate family member of a current Junior League of York member is ineligible to be a scholarship recipient
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit the following required materials by March 1, 2026, to scholarshipjly@gmail.com:
- Scholarship Application Form
- Guidance Counselor/Academic Advisor Form
- Volunteer Activities Reference Form
Applications missing any of the required items will be deemed incomplete and will not be reviewed by the Junior League of York Scholarship Committee.
Application Process
- The Junior League of York Scholarship Application Form along with the Guidance Counselor/Academic Advisor Form and Volunteer Activities Reference Form must be submitted by March 1, 2026, to scholarshipjly@gmail.com. All materials must be submitted at the same time. Signatures must appear on all forms.
- The Scholarship Committee will review all completed applications with selection based on volunteer experiences, leadership abilities, academic performance, written expression, and personal attributes. Additional consideration will be given to individuals who have volunteer experience around Junior League of York’s current focus area of food insecurity.
- Scholarship recipients will be notified by email by the middle of April.
- Scholarship recipients will receive their scholarship award at the Junior League of York Membership Meeting on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 6:00 pm.
